Cynthia Rand is a New England photographer who is passionate aboutcapturing the unique behaviors in the lives of birds and wildlife. Some of her favorite situations to photograph are interactions between young birds/animals and their parents or siblings.Sharing her images is something Cynthia finds rewarding. She enjoys giving others a glimpse of what she observes in the field.
One way Cynthia has been able to share her images is through galleries in National Wildlife refuges, libraries and restaurants. Another way is through giving presentations to various organizations, including The Parker River National Wildlife Refuge Photography Club, scouting groups, and other special interest groups. Cynthia also runs owl and bird photography workshops. She scouts for her target birds and once she finds them, she brings clients to the various locations so they can enjoy them and photograph them. Bird photography ethics is something she practices and teaches on these workshops as well.
Cynthia is currently a member of the the New England Camera Club where she serves as a Co-President. She has won several awards for her wildlife and landscape photography thus far. Cynthia also belongs to the Massachusetts Camera Naturalists, an invitational only nature photography group for the New England area.
Any chance she gets, Cynthia is out in nature looking for birds and wildlife to photograph. And in the spring she can be found searching the woods for nesting birds or denning animals that are busy raising their young. Cynthia feels these present the most fascinating scenarios to photograph and share with others.
